Pikkar (“Pikkar”, “we”, or “us”) values its users’ /customer’s (“you” or  “your”) privacy and is committed to safeguarding your personal information. This privacy statement describes how we manage your personal information, as well as your privacy rights and how the law protects you. Please thoroughly review this privacy statement before using our Site or Services. The term “Services” refers to any services offered by us whether on the Platform or otherwise.

This privacy statement pertains to your use of any of our products, services, content, features, technologies, or functions, as well as our websites and Platforms (collectively, the “Platform”). Your use of our Platform or services signifies your consent to the terms of our Privacy Policy. If you don’t consent to any of these privacy terms, we highly recommend that you stop using this website and our service. A continued usage of our website shall imply that you give your consent to be bound by these terms.

By using the Platform and the Services, you agree and consent to the collection, transfer, use, storage, disclosure and sharing of your information as described and collected by us in accordance with this Policy.  If you do not agree with the Policy, please do not use or access the Pikkar Platform.

What information do we collect?

  1. Information that you provide to us

We may request specific Protected and Personally Identifiable Information from you. We may collect this information through a variety of means and locations on the Services, such as account registration forms, contact us forms, or when you interact with our Platform in other ways. When you register to use the Services, a User Account is created. We will request only the Personally Identifiable Information that is required for lawful purposes related to our Services and is necessary for us to collect for such purposes.

This includes information when you;

  • Create or update the Pikkar account which may include your Email ID, Name, Address, Mobile Number, Gender, Date of birth, Login name, Password.
  • Use our Services, we may collect and store information about you to process your requests and automatically complete forms for future transactions, including (but not limited to) your phone number, address, email, billing information etc.
  • Correspond with Pikkar for customer support.
  • Report problems for troubleshooting.
  • If you sign up to use our Services as a Service Partner, we may collect location details, profile picture, copies of government identification documents and other details (KYC), vehicle related documents such as insurance, pollution certificate etc. and such other documents which evidence the health or fitness of the vehicle to provide Services on the Pikkar Platform, call and SMS details.
  • We collect background check and identity verification information of the Service Partners. This may include information such as driver history or criminal record (where permitted by law), and right to work. This information may be collected by an authorized vendor on the Company’s behalf.
  • In case you sign up as a Service Partner, enable features that require Pikkar’s access to other Platforms on Your Device aiming to prevent frauds towards the Users.
  • If you sign up to use our Services as an employee or as a stakeholder of a third party to whom the Company has an arrangement and has offered discount coupons/ or extended certain promotional offers, the Company may share any information provided by you with such third party to be utilized by them for limited internal business purposes only.
Personal Information: The Play Store may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and payment information when you create an account, make purchases, or use certain features of the platform.

Device Information: Information about your device, including hardware model, operating system version, and unique device identifiers, may be collected to optimize app compatibility and provide better service.

App Usage and Interaction: The Play Store may collect data about how you interact with apps, including the apps you install, update, and remove. This information helps improve app recommendations and overall user experience.

Payment Information: If you make purchases on the Play Store, your payment details and transaction history may be collected to process payments securely.

Information that we collect as you access and use our services

  1. In addition to any Protected Information or other information you choose to submit to us, we and our third-party service provider may use a variety of technologies that passively (or automatically) collect certain information whenever you visit or interact with the Services (“Usage Information”). This Usage Information may include, among other things, the browser you are using, the URL that referred you to our Services, the areas of our Services that you visit, and the time of day. In addition, we capture your Device’s Device Identifier. Our servers recognize your Device by its Device Identifier.
  2. Usage Information may be gathered via cookie. Your browser allows you to deny or approve the use of cookies if you do not want information to be collected via cookies. You can disable or manage cookies by configuring a preference in your web browser or on your device. If you disable cookies or flash cookies on your Device, certain features of the Services may not operate as intended or may not be able to personalize the delivery of information to you. The Company cannot control the use of cookies (or the resulting information) by third parties, and our Privacy Policy does not apply to the use of cookies by third parties.
  3. Location Data:
  • Service Partners: Pikkar collects location data when the Platform is running in the foreground (app is open and on-screen) or background (app is not in use) of a mobile device’s operating system. Pikkar only obtains location data when the “On-Duty” icon is enabled in the Platform.
  • Customers: We collect precise or approximate location information from the mobile devices of users if they permit us to do so. Pikkar collects this information from the time a ride or delivery is requested until the time it is completed, as well as whenever the app is operating in the foreground on the user’s mobile device. We use this information to improve your experience with our apps, including enhancing pick-up locations, enabling safety features, and preventing and detecting fraud. Pikkar collects the Service Partner’s location data and ties it to the Customer’s account, even if the Customer has not enabled us to collect location data from their device. This allows us to provide Customers with services such as receipt generation and customer support.

Information that Third Parties provide about you

We may, from time to time, supplement the information we collect about you through our website or Platform or Services with outside records from third parties.

Information collected by Platforms

  • Our Services are delivered predominantly via the Platform. We may collect and use technical data and related information, which may include, but is not limited to, technical information about your device, system and Platform software, and peripherals, that is gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, product support and other services to you (if any) related to such Platforms.
  • In addition to the Device Information, when you use one of our Platforms, such Platform may automatically collect and store some or all of the following information from your mobile device (the “Mobile Device Information”).
    • Your preferred language and country site (if applicable)
    • The manufacturer and model of your mobile device
    • Your mobile operating system
    • The type of mobile internet browsers you are using
    • Your geolocation
  • Information about your interactions with the Platform and any of our websites to which the Platform links, including the number of times you use a specific part of the Platform over a given time period, the amount of time you spend using the Platform, the frequency with which you use the Platform the actions you take within the Platform, and how you interact with the Platform.
  • Information to allow us to personalize the services and content available through the Platform.
  • Data from SMS/ text messages upon receiving Device permissions for the purposes of (i) issuing and receiving one-time passwords and other device verification, and (ii) automatically filling verification details during financial transactions, either through us or a third-party service provider, in accordance with applicable law. We do not share or transfer SMS/ text message data to any third party other than as provided under this Privacy Policy.
  • If you are a vendor or a Service Partner, we will, additionally, record your calls with us made from the device used to provide Services, related call details, SMS details location and address details.

Use of collected information

  1. Our primary objective in accumulating your information is to enhance your experience when utilizing the Services. We use your information to closely monitor which features of the Services are used the most, to allow you to view your trip history and rate trips, and to determine which features we need to improve, including analyzing usage patterns and geographic locations to determine where we should offer or concentrate services, features, and/or resources.
  2. Based upon the Protected Information you provide us when registering for an account, we will send you a welcoming email to verify your username and password.
  3. We use the information collected from our Platform so that we are able to serve you the correct app version depending on your device type, for troubleshooting and in some cases, marketing purposes.
  4. We use your Internet Protocol (IP) address to help diagnose problems with our computer server, and to administer our web site(s). Your IP address is used to help identify you, but contains no personal information about you.
  5. We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our Services are temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account.
  6. We may use the information obtained from you to prevent, discover and investigate violations of this Privacy Policy or any applicable terms of service or terms of use for the Platform, and to investigate fraud, chargeback or other matters.
  7. We provide some of your Protected Information (such as your name, pick up address, contact number) to the Service Partner who accepts your request for transportation so that the they may contact and find you.
  8. In case of the Customers, we use the geo-location information for various purposes, including for such Customers to be able to view the Service Partner in your area that are close to your location to provide services to You, to automatically fetch your location when you open the Pikkar App, for the Service Partner to identify the pickup location and to allow you (if you choose through any features we may provide) to share this information with other people for your safety.
  9. In case of the Service Partner, we use the geo-location information for (only when the Service Partners activates the icon “On-Duty” on the Pikkar App) the Service Partner to receive orders close to his location even when the Pikkar App is not in use or closed, to enable the Customers track the distance of the Service Partnerss from their location for pick up, to share the exact location for the safety of the Customers.
  10. In addition, we may use your Protected Information or Usage Information that we collect about you: (a) to provide you with information or services or process transactions that you have requested or agreed to receive including to send you electronic newsletters, or to provide you with special offers or promotional materials on behalf of us or third parties; (b) to enable you to participate in a variety of the Services’ features such as online or mobile entry sweepstakes, contests or other promotions; (c) to contact you with regard to your use of the Services and, in our discretion, changes to the Services and/or the Services’ policies; (d) for internal business purposes; (e) for inclusion in our data analytics; and (f) for purposes disclosed at the time you provide your information or as otherwise set forth in this Privacy Policy.
  11. We do not use the information collected from you for targeted advertising.

How and when we disclose information to Third Parties

We do not sell, share, rent, or trade the information we have collected about you, except as disclosed in this Privacy Statement or at the time of collection. The following instances allow for the sharing of information:

  1. WHEN YOU AGREE TO RECEIVE INFORMATION FROM THIRD PARTIES

You may have the option of receiving information and/or promotional offers directly from third parties. If you consent to the sharing of your Protected Information, your Protected Information will be disclosed to these third parties, and all information you disclose will be subject to their privacy policies and practices. You should examine the privacy policies and practices of these third parties before agreeing to receive such information from them, as we are not responsible for their policies and procedures. If you decide in the future that you no longer wish to receive communications from a third party, you must contact that third party directly.

  1. THIRD PARTIES PROVIDING SERVICES ON OUR BEHALF

We may also share your Protected Information restricted only to your name and phone number with trusted third-party service providers who may from time to time offer their services to you. These third-party service providers are completely unrelated to Pikkar. When you use their service, you may be subject to such third party service providers’ website’s terms and conditions and other policies. Pikkar makes no representation or guarantee as to the accuracy or authenticity of the information contained in any such third party websites or services, and your linking to any other websites or using any such services is completely at your own risk and Pikkar disclaims all liability thereto.

  1. CORPORATE AFFILIATES, SENIOR MANAGEMENT AND EMPLOYEES

We share your Protected Information with our corporate affiliates, senior management and employees on a need to know basis. All recipients of your Protected Information are bound to follow the terms of a strict Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) that they execute with KamPao. Additionally our employees and affiliates will be periodically trained and informed about the best privacy practices for securely handling personal data.

  1. LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES, REGULATORS, AND GOVERNMENT OR PUBLIC BODIES

In order to comply with any legal or regulatory requirements, we may disclose your personal information to law enforcement authorities, regulators, governmental or public bodies, and other relevant third parties.

  1. OTHER ENTITIES WHO MERGE WITH US, ACQUIRE US OR ACQUIRED BY US

We may decide to sell, transfer, or consolidate portions of our business or assets. Alternatively, we may attempt to acquire or merge with other companies. If our business is sold, the new owners may continue to use your personal information as described in this privacy statement.

Third Party Content and Links to Third Party Website

The Services may contain content provided by a third party, and those third parties may collect website usage data and your Device Identifier when web pages from any online or mobile Service are served to your browser. In addition, when you use the Services, you may be directed to third-party-operated and -controlled websites or applications that we do not control. These third parties’ privacy policies are not our responsibility. If you click on a banner advertisement, for instance, you may be redirected to a third-party site. These other websites may or may not send you their own cookies, independently collect data, or independently solicit Protected Information, and they may or may not have their own published privacy policies. Before submitting any Protected Information to third parties, we encourage you to be aware of when you have left our Services and to read the privacy policies of all third-party websites and applications.

Information collected by Service Partners

This Privacy Statement does not cover the use of any information about you obtained by the Service Partner in the course of providing you with a ride on a motorcycle booked through the Services or otherwise.

If you are a Service Partner, we may share your name, vehicle number, driver’s license number, phone number, profile photo (if applicable), and/or tracking information with our customers in order to provide our services.

Security

The Protected Information and Usage Information we collect is securely stored within our databases, and we use standard, industry-wide, commercially reasonable security practices such as encryption, firewalls and SSL (Secure Socket Layers) for protecting your information. However, as effective as encryption technology is, no security system is impenetrable. We cannot guarantee the security of our databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply won’t be intercepted while being transmitted to us over the Internet or wireless communication, and any information you transmit to the Company you do at your own risk. We recommend that you not disclose your password to anyone.

Grievance Officer

Pikkar Manager would be designated as the grievance officer for the purposes of the regulations drafted under the Information Technology Act of 2000; (grievances@pikkar.in) can be used to contact this individual. You can direct any complaints regarding this privacy policy or the use of your Protected Information or other data to him.

Request for data deletion

To exercise your privacy rights and preferences, you can send us a Data Deletion Requests if you do not want us to process your data to our email at (support@pikkar.in).

Changes

We reserve the right to revise this Privacy Policy as our information practices change from time to time. Any modifications will take effect as soon as they are posted in the updated Privacy Policy.
